Introducing... Travel CUTS | What Sets Us Apart | Why Our Customers Keep Coming Back

Introducing... Travel CUTS

We all know that people spend their leisure time doing all sorts of things: going to movies, catching a great band, bowling, sleeping. OK, maybe you don't bowl. But we defy you to find anyone who doesn't travel – or doesn't want to travel – in their leisure time. Travel is one of the fastest growing recreational activities in the world. In fact, the entire global travel industry currently brings in over 447 billion dollars a year, with a growing little chunk of that generated by us, Travel CUTS! That's why we need people.

But we don't need just anyone. We need people who share our passion for travel, people who want to sell an experience, not just a ticket.

If that sounds like you, working with us could be your golden opportunity. To find out more, read on! We'd like to start by telling you more about us; then, if you're still interested, we'll describe in more detail who we're looking for.

What Sets Us Apart

UNIQUE PRODUCTS
We specialize in youth and student travel, but that just means we're experts in getting the best prices. We are proud of our unique youth orientated programs like the Student Work Abroad Programme (SWAP) and the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), to name just a few. But for people who aren't students and who are young at heart, we can provide great travel experiences. Anyone can travel with us.

AMAZING PRICES
We provide our highly flexible and reliable products at the lowest possible price. We negotiate with airlines and other suppliers for special fares and discounts. Then we pass the savings on to our customers.

EXPERT, ENTHUSIASTIC STAFF
Our staff are experienced travellers and trained consultants who love the challenge and excitement involved in providing expert advice and superb, personalized service to their customers.

UNIQUE CORPORATE STRUCTURE
We've been around for more than 35 years. The first office of the company that would become today's Travel CUTS opened its doors on the University of Toronto campus in 1969. From the outset, we've been owned by student organizations -- first the Association of Ontario Student Councils (AOSC), and then in 1981, the Canadian Federation of Students-Services (CFS-S) .

Our student ownership helps to ensure that student interests have priority in both our day-to-day operations and our long-range planning. And it means we're not here just to make money. A portion of our profits returns to the CFS. It uses the money to fund programs and services that provide support and resources to Canadian students, from specially tailored health insurance plans to advocacy work on behalf of students' interests.

In addition to our close ties with the CFS, we're also a member of the International Student Travel Confederation (ISTC). Our ISTC membership gives our customers access to all kinds of hip work abroad and study abroad programs, student-discounted tickets, and an international support network for travellers needing help.

Our enterprise struck a chord from the start. Canadian students, it seems, have always known that getting an education includes getting out of the classroom and out onto the open road, and that encounters with other cultures provide rich opportunities for learning about one's own. Lifelong learners are lifelong travellers and we have many customers we've been serving for years.

Why Our Customers Keep Coming Back

Lots of reasons…

  • for unbeatable value on their budget travel dollar
  • for expert, unbiased counsel -- chances are, we've been where they're going
  • for maximum choice and flexibility
  • for convenient one-stop shopping (tickets, rail/bus passes, guidebooks, etc.)
  • for our helpfulness when something goes awry

We're really incredibly busy, and that's why we're looking for some good people to join our team.
